Pharma Employee Dies in Hit-and-Run on Kanpur Highway, Driver Flees

Kanpur: In a tragic incident, a 40-year-old pharmaceutical company employee, Suraj Mishra, died after a speeding vehicle allegedly hit his motorcycle and ran over him on the Naubasta-Bhaunti highway near Yashoda Nagar in Kanpur on Sunday morning, October 18, 2026.
According to police, the accident occurred at around 5:25 am when a speeding vehicle struck Mishra’s motorcycle from behind, causing him to lose control. The vehicle allegedly ran over him before fleeing the scene.
Mishra sustained critical injuries and was being taken to a hospital when he died on the way. His body was subsequently sent for a postmortem examination.
Police have launched an investigation to identify and trace the driver involved in the accident. Further details are awaited as the investigation progresses, reports TOI.
