Samir Desai, President-BU Biologics at Zydus Lifesciences, passes away

Ahmedabad: Zydus Lifesciences has announced that Samir Desai, President-BU Biologics forming part of Senior Management of the Company passed away.

Samir headed BU Biologics which comprises of Specialty businesses spanning across, Specialty GI, Hepatology, Specialty Orthopedics, Oncology ( solid tumors, Hematology, Supportive care, Diagnostics), Immunology, Rheumatology, Nephrology, Transplantation Immunology, Global Vaccines business (Private & Public Markets), Specialty Ophthalmology, IOLs & Diagnostics.

He served on several prominent global health bodies, including GAVI's Funding Policy Review Committee, was an Executive board member of the Coalition for Global Hepatitis Elimination, and an Executive Committee Member of the Alliance for Global Influenza Preparedness. Samir had published many papers in Peer reviewed Journals and is on the editorial boards of several publications. He was also a Tedx Speaker and a frequent speaker at various global forums.
