Sun Pharma Names Sana Shaikh as Head of Marketing

New Delhi: Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd has appointed Sana Shaikh as its Head of Marketing, strengthening the company's leadership as it sharpens its focus on brand building, customer engagement and strategic growth in the pharmaceutical sector.
Sana Shaikh brings around 18 years of experience in pharmaceutical marketing, with strong expertise in integrated marketing, brand strategy, customer insight mining, cross-functional collaboration and event management. Her appointment reflects Sun Pharma’s emphasis on strengthening its marketing architecture amid evolving healthcare and market dynamics.
Before joining Sun Pharma, Shaikh was associated with Emcure Pharmaceuticals Ltd, where she served as Head of Marketing. During her tenure, she played a key role in driving brand strategy, enhancing market positioning and executing customer-centric initiatives across multiple therapeutic areas. Her career journey also includes senior marketing and leadership roles at leading pharmaceutical companies such as Nicholas Piramal India Ltd, Cipla and Abbott, giving her wide exposure to diverse portfolios and product life cycle management.
On the education front, Shaikh completed her management studies from the Department of Management Sciences (PUMBA), University of Pune, in 2008. Her academic background has supported her strong grounding in strategic marketing, business planning and execution excellence.
Sharing her thoughts on taking up the new role, Shaikh expressed enthusiasm about beginning this new chapter at Sun Pharma and working closely with teams across the organisation. She acknowledged the mentors and colleagues who have shaped her professional journey and highlighted her focus on creating meaningful and impactful marketing outcomes for patients, healthcare professionals and other stakeholders.
According to Exchange4media, in her new role, Shaikh will lead Sun Pharma’s marketing function, overseeing brand strategy, communication frameworks, customer insights integration and promotional initiatives aligned with the company’s business priorities and long-term growth vision.
The appointment comes at a time when pharmaceutical companies are increasingly prioritising digital engagement, data-driven decision-making and differentiated brand positioning. With her extensive experience and strategic orientation, Shaikh is expected to contribute significantly to strengthening Sun Pharma’s brand equity and marketing effectiveness.
Sun Pharma, India’s largest pharmaceutical company by revenue, continues to reinforce its leadership team as part of its broader efforts to sustain market leadership and drive innovation across domestic and global markets.
