Telangana DCA seizes Alka-Shot Oral Solution in Bhupalpally
Telangana: Drugs Control Administration, Telangana has seized 'Alka-Shot Oral Solution," an Allopathic medicine, in Bhupalpally for making misleading claim on its labels that it treats ‘Kidney Stones’.
During the raid conducted on 7 th February to detect medicines moving in the market with misleading claims, DCA officials detected ‘Alka-Shot Oral Solution' manufactured by Corona Remedies Private Limited, Jatoli, Oachghat, Solan, Distt. Solan, Himachal Pradesh.
No drug shall make claims regarding the diseases/disorders specified in Schedule J of Drugs Rules, 1945.
Smt. P. Pavani, Drugs Inspector, Bhupalpally carried out the raid. Further investigation shall be carried out and action shall be taken as per the law against all the offenders. Persons who make misleading claims regarding drugs for treatment of certain diseases and disorders specified in Schedule J of Drugs Rules, 1945 are punishable under Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, with imprisonment which may extend to two years and with fine.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that the Drugs Control Administration, Telangana, seized drugs worth Rs. 2.2 lakhs that were illegally stocked for sale in a recent raid conducted on unlicensed premises. Siddi Sridhar had been stocking drugs at the clinic for sale without a drug licence.
