New Delhi: The Telangana Human Rights Commission (TGHRC) has stepped in after nine B.Pharmacy (B.pharm, B.pharma) students from Venkateshwara Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nalgonda, lodged a complaint alleging that their original educational certificates were being withheld by the college.
According to a recent media report in the Deccan Chronicle, the students claimed that the college refused to return their documents, citing pending fee reimbursement as the reason.
The Commission, led by Chairperson Dr Justice Shameem Akther, observed that such actions amount to a violation of students’ constitutional and human rights.
The Commission, led by Chairperson Dr. Justice Shameem Akther, said that this practice violates students' rights and recommended that the college's chairman and principal should quickly return the original certificates and give Transfer Certificates (TCs) to the students who complained.
Further, the Commission has summoned both officials to appear in person on September 2, 2025, for an inquiry. Copies of the order have also been forwarded to the District Collector, Nalgonda, and the Telangana Council for Higher Education for urgent compliance, reports the Deccan Chronicle.
