Lucknow University Introduces Two M.Pharm Courses for 2026-27, PCI Approves 15 Seats Each

Lucknow: Lucknow University (LU) will introduce two new postgraduate programmes in pharmaceutical sciences, M.Pharm in Pharmaceutics and M.Pharm in Pharmacology, at its Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences located on the university's new campus. The programmes will commence from the 2026-27 academic session.
The newly launched courses have received approval from the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), the regulatory body governing pharmacy education in the country. Each programme will offer an intake of 15 seats.
University officials stated that the approval confirms that the institute meets the required PCI standards in terms of infrastructure, laboratories, and academic facilities, which are essential for conducting postgraduate pharmacy programmes.
Along with the introduction of these new courses, the institute’s existing B.Pharm undergraduate programme and D.Pharm diploma course have also received renewed PCI approval for the academic year 2026–27.
Speaking on the development, Lucknow University Vice-Chancellor Prof. J.P. Saini said that the addition of the postgraduate programmes will open greater opportunities for students to pursue advanced education and research in pharmaceutical sciences, reports The Times of India.
