Private Pharmacy Colleges in UP Warned Against Excess Fee Demands, Recognition at Risk

Lucknow: The Joint Entrance Examination Council (Polytechnic), Uttar Pradesh, has warned private pharmacy institutions against collecting fees beyond the amount prescribed by the state government. The council stated that strict action, including cancellation of institutional recognition, will be taken against colleges found violating the fee regulations during the admission process.
The directive has been issued following complaints from students regarding excessive fee demands by certain private pharmacy institutes. The council has instructed all participating institutions to strictly adhere to the fee structure approved by the state government and refrain from imposing any additional or unauthorized charges on students seeking admission to diploma pharmacy programmes.
To safeguard students’ interests, candidates have been advised not to pay any amount exceeding the notified fee. If any institution demands additional payment, students can file complaints with the Joint Entrance Examination Council (Polytechnic) or inform the concerned District Magistrate. The authorities have assured that such complaints will be investigated promptly and appropriate action will be taken against the defaulting institutions.
The council reiterated that institutions found charging fees beyond the prescribed limit or violating admission guidelines may face stringent penalties, including withdrawal of recognition. The move aims to ensure transparency in the admission process and protect students from financial exploitation while pursuing diploma pharmacy education.
Dainik Jagran reports that the council has appealed to students and parents to remain vigilant during the admission process and immediately report any irregularities related to fee collection or admission procedures. The authorities emphasized that strict compliance with the government-prescribed fee structure and admission norms is mandatory for all private pharmacy institutions participating in the counselling process.
