NIMHANS in Bangalore witnesses a mentally ill patient opening fire at the premise
A mentally ill patient was able to snatch a gun from the police guard on duty in the NIMHANS hospital in Bangalore, and is reported to have opened fire at the hospital premise. The person charged here is also an alleged criminal, reported to be in the hospital for a psychiatric evaluation at the time of the incident.
A strong retaliation by the police force, also present at the premise, led to the man suffering from bullet injuries, and later succumbing to his injuries.He was immediately rushed to ICU. However, no other casualty was reported.
Vishwa, 40, had been earlier arrested in 2012 in connection with a case of murder.
