21 year old nurse found dead in pool of blood at hospital quarters, suspect detained

Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, a 21-year-old nurse was found dead in a pool of blood inside her room in Thukkuguda, with her family alleging that she was raped and murdered. Police have detained a suspect in connection with the case and are awaiting medical and postmortem reports to determine whether she was sexually assaulted.
According to the news reports, the victim, a native of Bhadradri Kothagudem district, had been working as a nurse at a private hospital in Thukkuguda for the past seven months. She was living in the residential rooms of the hospital along with her friends, according to Shamshabad Police.

Police have detained a man who works at a mechanic garage near the victim's room and questioned him as part of the investigation.
Speaking to TNIE, a relative of the victim said that she received a call from the nurse’s colleague on Saturday afternoon. The colleague was crying and, when asked what had happened, informed her that the nurse had died, the relative said. The colleague told the relative that she had knocked on the door several times but received no response. She then opened the window and found the nurse lying in a pool of blood.
The victim's mother alleged that her daughter had been raped and murdered and had suffered multiple injuries to her head, knees, throat and chest. She further alleged that a hammer was used in the crime.
Police, however, have not confirmed the sexual assault allegation and said the cause of death and other circumstances would be established after the postmortem and medical examinations.
Following the incident, family members and the victim's colleagues rushed to the spot. Pahadishareef police shifted the body to Osmania General Hospital (OGH) for postmortem on Sunday and registered a murder case.
Shamshabad DCP B Rajesh said the investigation was underway. Police are examining the circumstances surrounding the nurse's death.
Meanwhile, BJP leaders and the victim's family members staged a protest at the post-mortem examination centre of Osmania Hospital in Hyderabad, demanding justice and strict action against those responsible.
BJP leader Andela Sriramulu Yadav alleged that the victim was attacked with a hammer and demanded strict action against the accused. Yadav said, "On the day of Raksha Bandhan, a girl was attacked. A person opened the windows of her room and attacked her with a hammer, sexually assaulted and murdered her. What is the local Inspector doing? We had earlier filed a complaint with Hyderabad CP V C Sajjanar," reports ANI.
