Odisha: SCB hospital alleged of medical negligence
Odisha: SCB medical college and hospital is now facing an allegation after a pregnant woman died at its premise.
She was undergoing treatment at the hospital, and it was during this period she lost her life. SCB hospital now faces charges of medical negligence on this case.
The patient was admitted in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department with labour pains. However, she lost her life during the course as she was not given proper and timely treatment at the hospital, alleged her family members. Nurses and doctors did not attend to her properly, alleged a family member further.
An official complaint has been lodged by the family of the deceased at the SCB Medical police outpost alleging that she died due to negligence. They are now demanding a proper inquiry into the matter.
As reported by a local daily, the deceased woman was identified as Sabita Nayak of Kalantara village under Athagarh sub-division in Cuttack district. She had been admitted in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department with labour pains.
