Puducherry: MD, MBBS Medicos arrested for molesting a woman tourist
PUDUCHERRY: Two medicos associated with a private medical college in puducherry, one pursing his MD and one pursing his MBBS in final year, have now been arrested on charges of misbehaving and sexually harassing a woman tourist at a bar in the UT
Police informed media persons that the woman belonged to Pune, Maharashtra and was in the UT as a tourist. She had gone to a bar attached to a hotel which also had a dance floor with her friends. She joined the dancing team at the floor. The two  medicos who had also consumed alcohol joined the dancing group and targeted the girl and started sexually harassing her, reports newswire uni.
When the girl screamed, the security came to her rescue. However, the two medicos assaulted him and escaped.
The woman then went and loaded a complaint against the molestors with the local police. Â The two have been booked under
Both of them were produced before a judge and remanded to judicial custody.

- IPC Section 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty).—Whoever assaults or uses criminal force to any woman, intending to outrage or knowing it to be likely that he will thereby outrage her modesty, shall be punished with imprisÂonment of either description for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine, or with both.
- IPC Section 506 (1). Punishment for criminal intimidation.—Whoever commits, the offence of criminal intimidation shall be punished with imprisonÂment of either description for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine, or with both; If threat be to cause death or grievous hurt, etc.—And if the threat be to cause death or grievous hurt, or to cause the destruction of any property by fire, or to cause an offence punishable with death or 1[imprisonment for life], or with imprisonment for a term which may extend to seven years, or to impute, unchastity to a woman, shall be punished with imprisonÂment of either description for a term which may extend to seven years, or with fine, or with both.
Both of them were produced before a judge and remanded to judicial custody.
