Quack posing as AIIMS Bhubaneshwar doctor defrauds bank manager of Rs 17.5 lakh, held
Thereafter, an investigation was launched that ascertained that the accused had introduced himself as a doctor attached to AIIMS. He further produced forged salary slips along with forged bank account statements at the bank while availing a car loan of Rs 17.5 lakh. He also purchased a luxury car (KIA Seltos).
Bhubaneswar: A 25-year-old quack has been arrested for posing as a doctor at the prestigious AIIMS Bhubaneshwar and duping the Chief Manager of Bank of Baroda (Nayapalli Branch) for Rs 17.5 lakh while availing a car loan.
The case concerns a youth identified as Siddhartha Swayam Rout, pretending to be AIIMS doctor. He is a resident of Paikasahi under Gopalpur PS in Cuttack Sadar.
The matter came to light following a written complaint filed by the Bank Manager, Jogendranath Nayak about the fraud.

Thereafter, an investigation was launched that ascertained that the accused had introduced himself as a doctor attached to AIIMS. He further produced forged salary slips along with forged bank account statements at the bank while availing a car loan of Rs 17.5 lakh. He also purchased a luxury car (KIA Seltos).
However, the fraudster's actuality was soon revealed and he was taken into police custody. Moreover, the police have seized the car, some forged salary slips from the accused.
Later, the accused was produced before the court of Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate, Bhubaneswar. As per a recent report in Pragativada, cops have asked for a 15-day remand of the accused and urged the court not to grant him bail.
A few months ago, Medical Dialogues had reported about a quack, who had been practising as a doctor for the last ten years, by using fake MBBS and DNB General Surgery degrees and was arrested by the police after his con surfaced before the authorities.
