Rs 10 crore sanctioned for medical colleges in Himachal
New Delhi: The union health ministry on Wednesday sanctioned Rs 10 crore for setting up three medical colleges in Himachal Pradesh to improve the state's public health infrastructure.
"The grant-in-aid has been released for establishment of new medical colleges by upgradation of district hospitals," said Health Minister JP Nadda.
He said the current grant-in-aid was part of the sustained efforts by the ministry to significantly improve the health infrastructure in Himachal Pradesh.
"We have already sanctioned funds for setting up and strengthening of trauma care centres, cancer care facilities and purchase of new medical equipment in Himachal Pradesh," said Nadda, who is also a Rajya Sabha member from the state.
