Rajasthan Rolls Out Ambitious Healthcare Plan for 2026
Andhra Pradesh: In a significant development, Dr P Chandrasekhar, Vice Chancellor of Dr NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS) announced that a new BSc Emergency Medicine course with 20 seats will be introduced in every medical college in Andhra Pradesh.
Recently, the Vice-Chancellor visited Anantapur Government Medical College. This announcement was made while addressing the faculty members and students.
According to the Deccan Chronicle media news report, the Vice-Chancellor stated that this course would strengthen emergency healthcare services and produce specialised manpower. He added that this program would be launched along the lines of existing paramedical courses such as Cardiology, Perfusion Science, and Anaesthesia.
Dr Chandrasekhar also said that this course will provide students with a focused career pathway in emergency medicine and will improve the quality of emergency response in hospitals across the state.
In addition, he also announced that each medical college would receive ₹3 lakh for development work. Sports grounds will be built in all medical colleges, and inter-collegiate cultural programs will be organised every year.
Meanwhile, the Vice-Chancellor advised faculty members to become role models for the students and emphasised compassionate patient care as a core value of medical education.
In addition, Professor Dr M Vijayashree, Principal of Anantapur Medical College, thanked the Vice-Chancellor for designating a separate day for research activities. Dr D Malleswari, Superintendent of the government hospital, appealed to the students to actively participate in research. Vice-Principal Professor Dr S Sharon Sonia stated that the college students have consistently been involved in research and have received recognition from the university.
