CM Nitish Kumar Inaugurates New Medical College in Chhapra with 100 MBBS seats
Bihar- Chief Minister Nitish Kumar recently visited Saran district as part of his Pragati Yatra, where he laid the foundation stone of several development projects in Chapra and inaugurated a government medical college and hospital in Chapra.
Chhapra Medical College has been constructed at a cost of Rs 425 crore to provide advanced health facilities to the people of Saran division, which was inaugurated by Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on Wednesday. The land for the construction of the medical college has been given by the authorities of Jai Prakash University in Chhapra.
According to TOI media, Chhapra Medical College will have 100 MBBS seats, along with this, the college will also offer a BSc in Nursing, which will have a total of 60 seats. Also, the college and hospital will have a capacity of 500 beds, in which patients from not only Saran but also from the entire division including Siwan and Gopalganj districts will also be treated. Apart from this, there will also be a rest house facility for the attendants.
Chhapra Medical College and Hospital has been constructed on the land of JP University. Therefore, the administration has decided to provide separate connectivity from NH-31 (old NH-19). Meanwhile, students will soon be enrolled in the new Government Medical College at Chhapra and studies will also commence soon.
Moreover, the Health Department has also appointed 17 nurses and 7 clerks for this Medical College Hospital. Therefore, all of them have been instructed to take charge at the new place
Currently, there are a total of 11 government medical college hospitals and 8 private hospitals in the state. This Pragati Yatra of the Chief Minister is expected to bring a new wave of development in Chapra and surrounding areas, which has created enthusiasm among the local residents.
