NEET aspirant critical after minor allegedly stabs him 6 times in Patna

Patna: In a shocking incident, a NEET aspirant was critically injured after being allegedly stabbed six times by a minor in the Sorangpur area.
The incident reportedly involved the student's friendship with the accused's sister.
The condition of the student remains critical, and he is currently under treatment at a private hospital. Based on the complaint, the police have arrested the accused and recovered the knife used in the incident.
The incident took place on Sunday evening in a Colony under the Ramakrishna Nagar police station limits. The injured student had been staying in a rented accommodation while preparing for the NEET examination in Patna.

According to the police, the minor allegedly reached the colony on Sunday evening and attacked the student with a knife without any conversation. The student sustained six stab injuries and collapsed on the spot.
Hearing the commotion, people nearby rushed to the scene, apprehended the accused and notified the police. The accused was immediately taken into custody. Police also recovered the knife allegedly used in the attack.
During interrogation, the accused admitted that the student used to talk to his sister. Sadar-2 Police Sub-Divisional Officer Ranjan Kumar told Jagran that he was angry about this and committed the crime out of vengeance.
Police are investigating the case by collecting evidence from the scene. They are also investigating whether the attack was pre-planned or the result of a spontaneous dispute.
The investigators said that since the accused is a minor, proceedings are being carried out under the provisions of the Juvenile Justice Act. They added that the student's statement will be recorded once his condition becomes stable, after which further legal action will be taken.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported about a 21-year-old first-year medical student from Kerala who was allegedly killed by her classmate in Uzbekistan after hitting her on the head with a laptop following an argument. Both students study at Bukhara State Medical Institute. While the deceased was a native of Haripad, Alappuzha, the accused, a 23-year-old, hails from Malappuram, also from Kerala.
