Sexual assault
New Delhi: An 18-year-old MBBS student from Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar Medical College has accused a 20-year-old man of drugging, sexually assaulting, and blackmailing her with obscene photos and videos at a city hotel.
According to police, the student who has been living in the Baba Saheb Ambedkar Medical College's hostel in Delhi's Rohini, alleged that the accused invited her to a Hotel on September 9 for a party.
After the student reached the hotel, she claimed that the accused and his friends administered intoxicants and wrongfully confined her in the hotel premises. She further alleged that they then allegedly raped her, took obscene photos and videos, and threatened to make the footage public.

As per the India Today news report, the student in her complaint alleged that the accused repeatedly forced her to accompany him and subjected her to continuous intimidation and harassment.
The woman also alleged that the accused-a fellow medical student- threatened to make her obscene pictures and videos viral, which he clicked during the crime, adds NDTV
The incident came to light recently after the student filed a complaint.
Based on the complaint, the police registered a case and launched an investigation to trace and arrest the accused.
“The accused is preparing for government jobs in Mukherjee Nagar and is Class XII pass out. He invited the woman on the pretext of a party to a hotel. Both their families live in the same neighbourhood in Haryana and they both have been friends for long. So she went,” a police officer informed The Indian Express.
Medical Dialogues had previously reported that a 25-year-old final-year MBBS student who had travelled from Datia to Gwalior's Medical College to give her supplementary examination had accused a doctor of allegedly sexually assaulting her in the boy's hostel. The student alleged that she was threatened when she attempted to resist and tried to call for help. She stated that the senior doctor summoned her to the boys' hostel under the pretext of some work. Following his instructions, she went to the hostel, where the doctor reportedly locked the door and sexually assaulted her.
