Struggling with academic pressure, Final-year MBBS student commits suicide
Surat: Struggling with severe academic pressure for the past two years, a 24-year-old medical student allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling at her residence in Rameshwar Society.
The student, a final-year MBBS student and intern was allegedly undergoing treatment for stress-related issues. It is suspected that she took the extreme step after being unable to cope with the pressure of her medical course, as per the police investigation report.

The incident came to light on Wednesday night when her family members found her hanging in the room. Her elder sister immediately rushed her to a nearby hospital where the doctors declared her brought dead.
Following this, the police reached the scene after receiving the information. They conducted a preliminary investigation and discovered that she was suffering from academic stress. To confirm the exact cause of her death, the police have seized her mobile phone and an investigation is underway.
She is survived by her parents and sister. Her father works in the textile industry,
Varachha police inspector RB Gojiya told TOI, "We have checked the victim's mobile phone and spoken with her relatives and friends to understand the possible reasons behind her extreme decision. Initial investigations have revealed that she had been under stress over her studies for several months. We are continuing our investigation."
Medical Dialogues had previously reported that a second-year medical student studying at Madurai Medical College allegedly committed suicide after failing twice in a subject in the first-year semester examination.
