595 MBBS graduates get relief as Haryana orders return of academic certificates
Delhi Govt Considers ‘Delhi Institute of Medical Sciences’ to Ease Patient Load
Haryana: Providing significant relief to 595 MBBS graduates of the 2020 batch, the Haryana government has recently directed four Government Medical Colleges to return their Class 10 and 12 academic certificates, along with other documents submitted during the admission process.
This order has been issued by the office of the Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER), Haryana. It has been sent to the Directors of Pt. B.D. Sharma PGIMS, Rohtak; BPS Government Medical College, Khanpur Kalan (Sonipat); Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College, Karnal; and SHKM Government Medical College, Nalhar (Nuh).
As per the order, the documents related to MBBS, currently retained by the colleges, shall remain with the respective institutions. However, the Directors have been instructed to provide MBBS graduates with duly attested copies, along with scanned copies, of all documents held by the institutions. Therefore, the students can apply for further opportunities in higher education and employment; this is permissible under the 2022 policy, according to the Tribune report.
This order also directs colleges to issue an official document listing all original documents retained by them in accordance with the 'State Service Incentive Bond Policy'.
Meanwhile, speaking to TribuneIndia in this regard, Dr SK Singhal, Director of PGIMS-Rohtak, stated that a proforma has also been received from the DMER for providing documents to the graduates. Therefore, this process will be initiated shortly.
Additionally, recently graduated students who have accepted these directives must adhere to the bond policy; under this policy, they are required to serve at government health centres after completing their course.
Also, some candidates who passed the Haryana Civil Medical Services Medical Officer Examination were asked to submit their permanent registration certificates obtained from the Haryana Medical Council, but they were unable to do so.
