Ambala to get first five-storey hospital for TB, Chest, Heart diseases at cost of Rs 54.38 crore

Chandigarh: With the consistent efforts of Haryana Health Minister, Sh. Anil Vij, health services are continuously setting new dimensions in Haryana. In this episode, with the help of the Health Minister, Ambala city will have its first five-storey hospital for treatment of TB, Chest and Heart-related diseases for which the administrative approval of Rs. 54.38 crore has been sanctioned for its construction.

Sh. Vij said that the 100 bedded TB hospital to be built in Ambala city would be the only hospital of its kind in North India except Delhi. He added that world-class facilities for the treatment of diseases will be available in the hospital. This hospital will be equipped with ultra-modern equipments.

After getting the administrative approval, all efforts will be made to start the construction work of the hospital soon. The hospital will have state-of-the-art ICUs where TB and chest disease patients can be admitted separately. Emergency service will be available 24 hours for chest and heart patients.

New TB hospital will be built in two acres, there will be various types of OPDs: Anil Vij

The new TB hospital will be built on two acres of land after demolishing the old TB hospital building. Health Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that the hospital would also be used as a nodal centre for TB and heart disease training. Apart from doctors, training of lab technicians and NTEP staff can be done here. The hospital includes TB Clinics, MDR TB Clinics, Poster Tubercular TB Clinics, ILD Clinics, Zoonotic Diseases Clinics, General Heart OPD, Lung Cancer Clinics, ART Clinics, Allergy and Immunotherapy Clinics, Tobacco Session Clinics, Sleep Lab, ENT Clinics, Audiometry Clinics, There will be HIV counseling centre, physiotherapy room and other OPDs. Not only Ambala, patients from nearby states will also be able to get better and modern facilities of treatment in this hospital.

State of art laboratory will be built in the hospital premises: Anil Vij

Health Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that a five-storey separate laboratory building would be constructed in the hospital premises itself. A state-of-the-art laboratory will be set up here where the sample report will be ready within 24 hours. Till now many tests related to TB were being done in Karnal laboratory which will now also be done in Ambala. There will be a Virological Research and Diagnostic Laboratory which will be accredited by Delhi ICMR. Tests will be performed in the laboratory with modern machines. Apart from this, there will be biochemistry, bacteriology, fungal, molecular and path labs. This lab will run continuously for 24 hours and private samples will also be checked in the lab.

CT scan and other tests can be done in Radiology Department: Health Minister Vij

Health Minister, Sh. Anil Vij informed that there will also be a radiology department in the hospital where X-ray, ultrasound, and CT scan facility will also be available. In the hospital, complete tests of the lungs can also be done, which will give information regarding the lungs functioning. There will be a dedicated PFT lab here. So far these tests are only being done at PGI Rohtak, which will now be able to be done in Ambala as well.

Similarly, the hospital will have separate wards and an oxygen pipeline available in every ward. There will be a separate ward for 10 private rooms. The hospital will have two ICUs. The ICU will have Echocardiography, Ultrasound and Chest X-ray facilities round the clock. Apart from this, there will be a high dependency unit with a capacity of ten beds, operation theatre, sleep study lab, TB ward and other wards and facilities.
