Rohtak MBBS Exam Scam Probe: 14 booked MBBS Students withheld info, says Police
Rhotak- Out of the 24 students who were booked recently in the alleged MBBS exam scam that surfaced at Pandit BD Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak (UHSR), 14 MBBS students reportedly failed to cooperate with the investigators. These MBBS students were questioned last month, but they allegedly concealed crucial information and attempted to mislead the investigating team.
These MBBS students are from a private medical college in another district of Haryana. All of them will be summoned again, and further action will be taken on the basis of the investigation.
So far, four students have recorded their statements, while six others are yet to be questioned. Police say that 14 students did not cooperate when they were questioned at the college in April.
Speaking to Tribune, an official on the condition of anonymity said, “The police team visited his college in April to question him about his involvement in the scam. However, he not only hid crucial information but also tried to mislead the investigating officers.
Besides, more than 200 answer sheets have been sent to the Regional Forensic Science Laboratory in Sunaria. Besides, UHSR has also engaged handwriting experts to check the authenticity of the answer sheets. Samples of 30 students were collected recently and the handwriting analysis report is expected within two weeks.
Meanwhile, Medical Dialogues earlier reported that the investigation into the MBBS exam scam at UHSR has revealed that question papers were leaked on at least three occasions in 2024 to carry out the answer sheet racket, which is allegedly being run by a nexus of insiders and students. This was revealed during the interrogation of a key accused.
