Rohtak Varsity MBBS Exam Scam Probe reveals location used for tampering answer sheets
Rohtak- The ongoing probe into the “MBBS exam scam” at Pandit BD Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak (UHSR), has revealed the location used for tampering answer sheets.
It has been revealed that answer sheets of students enrolled in a private college, smuggled from the secrecy branch, were handed over to the prime accused by a Class IV outsourced employee in a washroom located in the administrative block of the university.
In this regard, investigating officer DSP Dalip Singh confirmed that the toilet located near the confidentiality branch was used as a meeting point to transfer answer sheets. He said, "The fourth class employee and another accused have also revealed the location during police remand recently."
Meanwhile, according to a TribuneIndia media news report, sources in the police department said that “Initially, the answer sheets were clandestinely smuggled out by the Class-IV employee from the secrecy branch and handed over to the other accused in a bag in the toilet to avoid detection of this illegal activity. Both have confessed to their involvement during police remand. After being re-attempted, the answer sheets were later returned to the same Class-IV employee at the same location for re-submission to the secrecy branch for evaluation”.
Moreover, a UHSR official also said that the toilets in the university's administrative block are the only place where CCTV cameras cannot be installed. "That might be the reason why it was chosen as the meeting place for illegal activity," it added.
The two accused are among the 17 UHSR employees named in the FIR lodged on February 15 in connection with the scam. However, their services have already been terminated by the UHSR authorities based on the police investigation and the preliminary inquiry conducted by the university.
