Himachal: All medical colleges to reopen from December 1 with conditions of SOPs
State Health Secretary Awasthi asserted that all medical colleges would become functional as the classes of MBBS first and Final years would start from the Dec 1.
Shimla: State Health Secretary Mr Amitav Awasthi on Friday stated that all the five medical colleges in the state would start functioning after nine months long break due to covid pandemic with certain conditions from Dec 1.
The Health Secretary said that after having a letter from Union Government to open the Medical Colleges a meeting of all principal of Indra Gandhi Medial Colleges Shimla. Dr Rajinder Prassad Medical College Tanda, Medical Colleges Chamba Hamirpur and Neri Choke on Thursday the state government directed the colleges to open the colleges with conditions of SOPs.
Mr Awasthi asserted that all medical colleges would become functional as the classes of MBBS first and Final years would start from the Dec 1. The parents and students have been asked to arrange the Covid test reports and affidavit of undertaking with them to join the classes following the Government of India SoPs with this regards.
Students of other classes of MBBS would start from the second week of Dec probably from Dec 8 and 9 next month with similar SOPs conditions, he noted.

Union Government on the National Medical Commission of India recently directed all the states and union territory to start Medical colleges which have been closed since the Covid lockdown nine months ago.
