Himachal: Former IPS charged for allegedly abusing medical officer, refusing COVID testing
On June 24, when a team led by medical officer Dr Ankush Thakur arrived at the residence, the accused not only refused to give the samples but also abused the doctor, the SP alleged.
Shimla - An FIR has been registered against a retired Indian Police Service (IPS) officer on the charges of abusing a medical officer who went to the officer's residence for collecting samples for COVID-19 testing, police said here on Saturday.
Superintendent of Police Shimla Om Pati Jamwal said the retired IPS Dalbir Singh Yadav, hailing from Etawah of Uttar Pradesh, was staying in the residence of Forest Department in Kotgarh.

On June 24, when a team led by medical officer Dr Ankush Thakur arrived at the residence, the accused not only refused to give the samples but also abused the doctor, the SP alleged.
Mr Yadav was staying with his son and arrived here on June 9.
Based on the complaint by Dr Thakur, a case was registered under Indian Penal Code section 118 (disobedience to public servant), 504 (provocation) and also under Epidemic Disease Act section 3 (1) (disobeying regulation) at PS Kumarsen on Friday.
The investigation is going in the matter, the SP added.
