NELS Skill Centre inaugurated at Tanda Medical College
Kàngra: National Emergency Life Support (NELS) Skill Centre inaugurated by Principal Dr Bhanu Awasthi on Tuesday at Dr R.P.Govt. Medical College, Kangra at Tanda.
Dr Bhanu Awasthi told UNI that RPGMC is the only Medical College in HP to have this skill centre which will Train Doctors and Paramedics in Life Saving Skills by doing hand on practice on mannequins.

He said that all the front-line doctors have to be trained in various emergencies by doing practice as these skills are not learned in Theory.
Dr Awasthi congratulated the Entire Team of Faculty member NELS Dr Amit Joshi, Dr Sujeet Raina, Dr Dhiraj Singha, Dr Rajesh, Dr Piyush, Dr Vivek Sood and Dr Bharti Gupta Associate Professor Department of Anaesthesia-cum- Nodal Officer NELS.
He further stated that the Government of India (GOI) has selected Dr RPGMC Kangra at Tanda for the First Batch of the Training of Trainers ( TOT) cum provider course for faculty which was started today and will conclude on July 8, in this region which is an honor for the institute and this hill state.
He said that the faculty from various Medical colleges will be trained in all life-saving skills for all emergencies and disaster management.
Dr. Awasthi said that in this session 27 Faculty members from 6 Medical Colleges of India are participating.
He said that 4 each faculty members from AIIMS Bhatinda, Medical College Agra, Govt. medical college Amritsar and from Medical College Patiala besides 5 from BJ Medical College Pune and 6 from DRPGMC Tanda are participating.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said the state government has given the approval to set up two robotic cath labs at a medical college in Kangra district. This marks the first step towards advancing healthcare in the state by introducing robotic surgery.
