In the order for investigation, issued by the Medical Superintendent, it was mentioned that they received a written complaint from the students alleging that HoD Gynecology did not allow them to enter the labour room while wearing burqas, ETV Bharat has reported.
The students alleged that the doctor wanted the girls to wear aprons instead of burqas.
According to a Greater Kashmir report, protesting against the incident, the GNM Nursing students raised slogans on Wednesday and demanded a fair inquiry into the alleged incident. Alleging that the student was subjected to harassment during a training session, the protesting students demanded appropriate action if the allegations were found to be substantiated by the committee.
Setting up a committee to investigate the matter, the Medical Superintendent of the GMC asked the committee to "conduct a free and fair inquiry" and submit the report within two days. "The committee should carry out a detailed inquiry and submit a report within two days," stated the order issued by the MS.
