MBBS intern struggles to breathe, dies

Manipal: In an unfortunate incident, a 24-year-old MBBS intern recently passed away after suffering from sudden breathing difficulties while visiting a gaming zone in Manipal with her friend.
The incident took place on March 25 when the intern, identified as Priya, a native of Ranchi, Jharkhand, began feeling unwell during her visit and began struggling to breathe.

Feeling concerned by her deteriorating condition, her friend immediately arranged for an auto-rickshaw and rushed her to Kasturba Hospital. However, despite the efforts, she failed to survive, and the doctors at the hospital declared her dead upon arrival, as reported by Udayavani.
Following the incident, her father, Sharma, filed a complaint at the police station. Based on his complaint, they registered a case under Section 194 of the Indian Penal Code.
The police authorities are investigating the circumstances leading to her death, and further details are awaited.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that an MBBS intern at Rama University recently died of a heart attack while on duty. The medico was identified as a 26-year-old MBBS intern at Rama Medical College in Kanpur.
While on duty, she collapsed suddenly after leaving the pediatric ward. Despite being rushed to the ICU immediately, doctors were unable to revive her, and she was declared dead during treatment.
