Srinivas medical college Mangaluru MBBS student allegedly jumps to death from apartment building

Mangaluru: In an unfortunate incident, a 21-year-old MBBS student at Srinivas Medical College at Mukka allegedly committed suicide after jumping from the fifth floor of a residential apartment in Surathkal, Mangaluru.
According to a preliminary investigation, the student had earlier attempted suicide. However, the reason behind her taking the extreme step is unknown and under investigation.
The student lived in a second-floor apartment and reportedly went to the fifth floor of the same building before jumping on Tuesday. The student sustained severe injuries and died on the spot.
The incident occurred when her parents, who had come from Hubballi to visit her, were present at the apartment. The sudden incident has left the family deeply shocked.

Confirming the incident, Mangaluru City Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy told The Siasat Daily, "The student died after jumping from the fifth floor of the apartment building. A case has been registered, and further investigation is in progress."
The police are examining all possible angles and recording statements to determine what led to the incident.
