MGM Indore 2 MBBS students drown in reservoir
Panna: In a tragic incident, two MBBS students of Indore's MGM Medical College drowned in a reservoir recently in Madhya Pradesh's Panna district.
Speaking to PTI, an official informed that the incident took place on Sunday evening. "The incident occurred at Dhawari dam near Ajaygarh town, some 40 km from the district headquarters. *** Gupta (20), a resident of Ajaygarh, and *** Prajapati (19) from Umaria, both MBBS students of Indore's Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) Medical College, drowned."
Their classmate, *** Bairwa (19), who is from Pipalkheda in Rajasthan, was rescued, Ajaygarh police station in-charge Ravi Jadon said.
Bairwa and Prajapati had come to visit Gupta's home in Ajaygarh.

The official said the bodies were fished out and sent to the government hospital in Ajaygarh for post-mortem. Further investigation is underway to establish how the students died, he added.
Police sources said the students lost their lives after one of them slipped into the water while cleaning his slippers and the other dived to save him.

A few months ago, 5 final year MBBS students of a private medical college in Tamil Nadu’s Trichy, who went to Nagercoil to attend a wedding, drowned in the sea off the Rajakkamangalam Lemur Beach. all five deceased medicos, two women and three men house surgeons, were final-year students of Trichy SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre. One of the victims was from Andhra Pradesh, and the other four were from Tamil Nadu, all in the age group of 23-24 years. The police said all bodies have been recovered.
The students, however, managed to reach the beach by going through a coconut grove. They arrived in Kanniyakumari district on May 5 to take part in the wedding of a student's brother, the official said adding the bodies were being sent to the families
