MP Govt, Tata Trusts sign MOU to support 115 identified health and wellness centres
The Trusts will extend cooperation for 500 more such facilities at a later stage. The agreement was signed at Mantralaya – in the presence of Chief Minister Kamal Nath and Health Minister Tulsiram Silawat – by Chief Secretary SR Mohanty and Tata Trusts Vice President Vijay Singh.
Bhopal, Feb 26: The Madhya Pradesh Government inked a memorandum of understanding on Wednesday with Tata Trusts vis-a-vis the latter's extending technical-cum-managerial support for 115 identified health and wellness centres to be set up in four years within 23 high-priority districts, it was officially learnt.
The Trusts will extend cooperation for 500 more such facilities at a later stage. The agreement was signed at Mantralaya – in the presence of Chief Minister Kamal Nath and Health Minister Tulsiram Silawat – by Chief Secretary SR Mohanty and Tata Trusts Vice President Vijay Singh.
Electronic health records shall be maintained in the districts. The Trusts will support high-risk pregnant women, referral regarding complex cases of diabetes, hypertension and cancer plus follow-up treatment. A technical committee shall be responsible for implementation.
Capacity-building of health workers will also Ube taken up at block level. Training material shall be available in collaboration with medical colleges and the city-based All India Institute of Medical Sciences. The Trusts will also cooperate in developing health-counselling practices. For better execution, the task of multiplying effects of programmes by utilising novel techniques and methods is also included. A monitoring committee shall be jointly constituted with the National Health Mission.
