MP HC serves notice to Index Medical college, State, MCI over alleged fault in PG medical admissions
Madhya Pradesh: On the matter of alleged fault in PG medical admission process, the Madhya Pradesh High Court has served notice to Index Medical College, the Director of Medical Education, State through the Principal Secretary Medical Education department and MCI seeking their response.
This came during a hearing of the petition filed by a medico from Uttar Pradesh who moved the High court alleging that the medical college had conducted a faulty admission process and in spite of receiving the necessary amount have not secured her a PG seat.
The Freepress Journal reports about the case. According to the petitioner, Index Medical College had secured Rs 26 lacs from her on the pretext of confirming her admission in the PG course (Pathology) in 2017. However, even after three years, she has not yet secured the PG seat in the institution. The counsel representing the petitioner submitted to the Indore bench of HC , "the college administration continued to tell the petitioner that she is admitted to PG course for three years. After having doubt of college's intension, the petitioner filed an RTI and found that she was not even enrolled in any PG Course of MCI," quotes FPJ
The petitioner claimed that she must be given the compensation of 1 crore as her three previous years have been wasted due to the negligence of the college authority. Moreover, she has also demanded that the amount deposited by her should be returned to her. She has appealed for a CBI investigation to look into the matter.
After considering the submissions of the petitioner, the divisional bench comprising justices SC Sharma and Shailendra Shukla has issued a notice to the Index Medical College, the Director of Medical Education, State through the Principal Secretary Medical Education department and MCI Board of Governors and has adjourned the court till the next hearing which is listed on September 22nd, reports the daily.
