MP HC Stays Appointment of Assistant Professor at Neemuch Medical College over forged documents
Bhopal: The appointment of assistant professor Dushyant Pal Singh to Virendra Kumar Sakhlecha Government Medical College in Neemuch has been suspended by the Madhya Pradesh High Court in Jabalpur. Singh's appointment was contested by petitioner Deepak Sharma, who was first on the waiting list and accused Singh of falsifying certifications and paperwork.
Singh was deemed ineligible for the position of assistant professor dental surgeon at the institution, according to the petitioner. He said that in order to obtain the position, Sharma falsified the paperwork and obtained fake certifications. The DME issued or floated an advertisement for the associate professor position. The application deadline for the aforementioned position was April 07, 2024, reports Free Press Journal.
An applicant was required to have an MD/MS/DNB in the relevant field to be eligible according to the educational qualification criteria. Candidates for the position of associate professor were to have prior research and teaching experience, as well as experience as a senior resident for at least one year following the completion of an MD or MS degree from an accredited institution, reports the Daily.
Singh was not even eligible to apply for the position in question since he did not meet the minimum eligibility criteria. The petition further said that he had claimed to be a researcher and submitted that he was serving as the NASI-ICMR Chair on Public Health Research at Rajasthan University of Health Sciences in Jaipur. The petitioner's advocate, Aditya Sanghi, stated that the high court has put a stay order against his appointment as assistant professor dental surgeon and had sent notices to all respondents, requiring them to react within four weeks.
