First-year MBBS student of Govt Medical College Latur found dead in hostel room
Latur: In a shocking incident, a 21-year-old MBBS student of the Vilasrao Deshmukh Government Medical College in Latur, Maharashtra, was found hanging from the ceiling fan of her hostel room. Prima facie, it is a case of suicide, police said.
The student committed suicide by hanging herself by tying her saree to the ceiling fan in her hostel room when her other roommates went to the library to take preparation for the upcoming MBBS exam.
Police said the deceased was a first-year student of the MBBS course and was staying in a government hostel located on the college premises. “On Tuesday morning, when her friends knocked on the door of the student’s room they didn’t get any response. Later, the hostel staff broke open the door to find her hanging from a fan with a saree,” a police official said.

Following this, the police investigated the spot and have registered a case of accidental death. Further investigation is underway.
The reason behind her serious attempt has yet to be determined since she left no suicide note behind. The police informed her parents who live in Aurangabad.
According to a media report in Pipa news, the student's death has shocked her friends and family members who are mourning for her loss.
The deceased student was a resident of the neighbourring Aurangabad city.
