Maharashtra: GMC Dhule gets MCI nod to start PG Medical courses in 11 disciplines

Maharastra: The Medical Council of India (MCI) has recently granted permission to the Dhule Government Medical College and Hospital to conduct Post Graduate (PG Medical) Medical courses in 11 disciplines.

The hospital secured permission for the same after following all the necessary procedures and formalities as stipulated by the Council.

Shree Bausaheb Hiray Government Medical College and Hospital of Dhule will now be conducting the PG courses in 11 disciplines. In total, 46 seats have been allotted to the institution for Post Graduate courses. Admissions for 35 seats have already been confirmed by Pallavi Saple, Dean of GMCH-Dhule to TOI.

The admission process has already been initiated and the first round of the counseling has already been conducted while going by the protocols of the admission procedure as instructed by the MCI guidelines.

The Shree Bausaheb Hiray Government Medical College and Hospital was built in 1989 and it got 22 departments in total for UG courses which include departments in Anatomy, physiology, biochemistry pathology, microbiology, pharmacology, medicine, surgery, gynecology, anesthesia, ENT, ophthalmology radiology, dentistry, orthopedics, chest and TB pediatrics and so on.

The GMCH campus is situated over 40,928 square meters and it got 600 faculty and staff members.11,000 patients every year receive treatment from the institution's OP Department.

Commenting on the same, Arun More GHCH MD told TOI "we have good Campus at Government College Dhule and our building is also under construction nearby. There is no dearth of facilities or infrastructure or even facilities required for the PG courses as only after the availability of all these facilities the MCI gives a letter of permission to run the course."
