Nashik Medical College employee dies after head gets stuck in elevator

Nashik- In an unfortunate incident, a 50-year-old contractual employee at Dr Vasantrao Pawar Medical College Hospital and Research Centre in Nashik died on Monday after her head reportedly got stuck in an elevator, causing severe injuries.
The deceased has been employed in the hospital's surgery department.
The incident occurred when the victim leaned into a freight elevator typically used to transport surgical equipment. When the elevator suddenly moved, her head became trapped, resulting in severe injuries, according to MSN.
This incident came to light when another employee witnessed it and immediately alerted others. A group of people gathered to rescue her, but they were unable to immediately free her head. She remained trapped for several minutes before being rescued.
After being rescued, the woman was immediately taken to the Intensive Care Unit, but succumbed to her severe injuries.
Following the incident, his son filed a complaint. Acting on it, the police have registered a case of negligence against Dr Vasantrao Pawar Medical College Hospital and Research Centre.
The medical college issued a clarification stating that the system utilised was not a standard passenger elevator, but rather a hoist trolley used for transporting drums of surgical instruments. The administration further explained that a government electrical engineer inspected the system and found no evidence of any technical defects or mechanical failures.
Additionally, the hospital also stated that the deceased had crossed the designated safety boundary and peered into the path of the trolley without adhering to operational guidelines, which led to the accident.
However, officials are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident.
Medical Dialogues had recently reported that in a shocking incident in Lucknow, a speeding SUV allegedly driven by a doctor collided with a scooter carrying three people. Following this, the car ran over four individuals sleeping on a footpath.
