Parbhani District Hospital to get Rs 143.85 crore boost

Mumbai: In a major boost to healthcare infrastructure, the Maharashtra government has sanctioned approximately Rs 143.85 crore for the procurement of materials and equipment to set up new modular facilities at the District Hospital in Parbhani and its subordinate health institutions.
This significant allocation for the 2025-26 financial year aims to boost healthcare infrastructure.
According to a UNI report, the funding will specifically equip newly operational modular Intensive Care Units (ICUs), labour rooms, and operation theatres across the district hospital and associated facilities. This upgrade is intended to enhance medical care and emergency treatment capabilities for patients in Parbhani and nearby areas.
The decision followed established administrative procedures, including necessary clearances from the Finance Department. The proposal was submitted via the Budget Expenditure and Management System (BEAMS) for fund distribution.

As per the Government Resolution (GR), the Commissioner of Health Services, Mumbai, and the Joint Director of Health Services (Hospitals), Mumbai, bear responsibility for ensuring proper fund utilization and preventing duplicate payments. Procurement will be handled by the Maharashtra Medical Goods Procurement Authority, with specific administrative and financial controls to ensure transparency and efficiency.
The GR mandates that funds must be used strictly for procuring modular healthcare equipment and materials, adhering to set procedures and relevant Finance Department circulars. Utilization certificates must be submitted before any further grant disbursements, ensuring accountability and financial discipline.
This investment underscores the state government’s commitment to strengthening critical healthcare infrastructure in rural and semi-urban regions, focusing on life-saving emergency facilities. The modular approach enables standardized, efficient, and cost-effective deployment of modern medical equipment across the district’s health network.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that the Maharashtra government has sanctioned ₹210 crore for the establishment of a new government medical college on the Gokuldas Tejpal (GT) Hospital campus in south Mumbai. The project will include a dedicated college building, as well as hostels for boys and girls and staff quarters, to be developed on a 7,091-square-metre plot located between GT Hospital and Cama & Albless Hospital at Fort.
