Baramati: A 21-year-old second-year MBBS student of a Government medical college in Baramati was forced to strip naked, beaten up and robbed of Rs 29,500 by three unidentified men. All the accused were arrested by the police.
The incident occurred on Sunday evening on the outskirts of Baramati city in the Pune district of Maharashtra when the student was on his way to a market in Baramati from his hostel, an official said. One person came on a motorcycle and abused the complainant, He snatched Rs 15,000 from him. When the student tried to resist, he started beating him said a police officer from Baramati.

Later, two more men came to the spot on a motorcycle. They forced the complainant to accompany them to a sugarcane farm, where they stripped him and hit him with a sugarcane.

The complainant managed to note down the registration number of one of the two motorcycles used in the crime and approached the police.
Ganesh Ingale, Deputy Superintendent of Police, (Baramati division) said a case was registered against three accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and all three accused have been arrested.
The victim informed Pune Mirror,"I am a second-year medical student. On Sunday, our college canteen was closed. So, I decided to first go shopping and then eat something outside. After I finished my dinner, I was on my way back to the hostel. Two unknown persons came near me and threatened me. Later, some of their accomplices arrived, forcefully made me sit on a bike, and took me to the sugarcane field behind the college. Then they undressed me and made my nude video. Threatening to make the video viral on social media, they demanded money. They said only if I gave them money would they delete the video. When I refused, they started beating me up with sugarcane sticks and hit me with stones. I suffered a serious injury to my right hand. I am taking treatment in Sancheti hospital and doctors have suggested surgery on the hand."
