MBBS Medico swindled out of Rs 6 lakh by cyber fraudsters

Odisha- In a recent case of cybercrime, a 22-year-old young MBBS medico from Rourkela, Odisha was allegedly defrauded of Rs 6 lakh by cyber criminals luring her with huge profits on her investments.

According to the TOI media news report, the girl received a message on WhatsApp asking her to join a group on the messaging app while she was at her home in Rourkela. The medico joined the group and after joining she found that 4,000 people were already present in the group.

Then, she was forwarded to another small WhatsApp group where a person asked her to join a social media site. After joining, the student was asked to make a small investment and in return, she was promised a good profit. Believing them, she deposited Rs 1,000 and in return, she received a profit of Rs 300 after which a total of Rs 1,300 was credited to her account as promised, reports TOI.

Luring her, the fraudsters again asked her to invest more, after which, she was continuously getting a good amount in return. One day they messaged her again to invest Rs 25,000. The girl invested the amount she was asked to, but this time she did not get any return.

After not getting any profit, she asked the fraudster for the reason and however, she was told to invest more to get huge profits. Later, she invested a total of Rs 6 lakh, and demanded returns along with the interest but she has not gotten any response from them yet, adds the daily.
