Odisha forms panel to recommend MBBS seat reservation for Govt school students
The Committee, headed by Justice A.K. Mishra, retired Judge of Odisha High Court, will recommend reservation of seats for the students of Government High Schools in the Engineering and Medical courses of the State.
Bhubaneswar: Odisha government recently constituted a six-member High Power Committee for making necessary recommendations on the reservation of seats for the students of Government-run schools in Engineering and Medical courses in the state.
The decision to constitute the committee was taken in pursuant to the decision of the state cabinet held on December 28 last year.
The Committee, headed by Justice A.K. Mishra, retired Judge of Odisha High Court, will recommend reservation of seats for the students of Government High Schools in the Engineering and Medical courses of the State.
The other members of the committee are Prof. Ashok Kumar Das, Former Vice-Chancellor Utkal University and former Head of the Laser and Plasma Technology Division at BARC,Dr. C.B.K. Mohanty, Director, Medical Education and Training, Odisha,Mr B.S. Poonia, Chairman, Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha and Mr G. Reghu, Director, Technical Education and Training, Odisha.
Dr. A.K. Nayak, Joint Secretary to Government, SD&TE Department will be the member convener of the committee.
