Round 2 PG medical counselling: CENTAC releases info for Minority quota candidates
Puducherry: Through recent notifications, the Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC) has released important information for candidates under minority quota who are seeking admissions to PG medical and dental courses in the Puducherry based medical colleges.
Unfilled PG Medical/Dental Minority Quota seats after Second Round will be converted into management quota seats. Willing candidates can Submit/Update their preferences after payment of registration fee of Rs 2 Lakhs.
The notice states, "As per the directions of the Health Secretariat, the unfilled minority Quota seats during the second round of counselling need to be filled up as open merit management quota seats based on the merit list on the All India basis. There has been a request to convert these seats after exhausting minority quota students in the second round itself as the allotment is done using a computerised module."
Accordingly, the unfilled PG Medical / Dental minority quota seats after the second round in PIMS and Sri Venkateshwaraa Medical College will be converted into Management Quota seats (All India basis) after exhausting minority quota candidates.
Accordingly, willing candidates can submit choices for the management quota PG Medical/Dental seats in PIMS and Sri Venkateshwaraa Medical College. The choices are enabled and the willing students may accordingly update the preferences, the notice added.
Students should note that, if they fail to join after the seat (management quota) is allotted, the registration fee of Rs 2,00,000/- will be forfeited.

Candidates willing to update their course preferences may first reset their old preferences using the reset button and then submit their preferences.
