Jalandhar: A scuffle between MBBS students of Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) and local miscreants inside the premises of the facility has left three medical students severely injured who were allegedly beaten with iron rods on Tuesday.
These medicos from 2016-2017 batch were allegedly assaulted by outsiders following which the injured students were taken to the Civil Hospital and got their Medico-Legal Reports made.
According to a recent media report in The Tribune, the parents of the victim students alleged that unidentified people from outside carrying iron rods entered the campus and assaulted the medicos. Resultantly, their hands, arms and legs got fractured.

The video of the fight which continued on for a few hours went viral, with the clothes of many students being visibly torn.
The injured students were living in the hostels, who eventually went back to their residences after the brawl. Expressing concern over the incident, their parents stated, "We cannot send our children back to an unsafe atmosphere till the offenders are identified and taken to task."
Meanwhile, the Director, PIMS, Amit Singh told The Tribune, "We have checked all CCTV footages of the incident. We have not been able to identify all the offenders yet as none of these footages were clear. One or two students involved in the incident could be outsiders, but we are not sure. Action will definitely be taken against the attackers once the inquiry is completed."
The college authorities are yet to take an action against the attackers, with the principal Dr Kulbir Kaur known to be unwell for the past two days.
SHO of Police Division Number 7 added that neither was the incident reported nor did they register a case yet.
