Nursing College soon to be established at Bir Sahib
Amritsar: A nursing college is soon to be established at Bir Sahib, as declared by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee chief Bibi Jagir Kaur.
On Tuesday, 16th November 2021, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) organised a health check-up camp at Baba Buddha Ji Charitable Hospital, Thatta. The health check-up camp was attended by a crowd of over 400 people.
On the same day, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee chief Bibi Jagir Kaur announced that a nursing college would be established at Bir Sahib. She further told the public that experts had been recruited for the same from Sri Guru Ram Das Medical College, Vallah, reports Tribune
She pointed out that the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee was playing a lead role in providing health facilities to residents. The free medical camps that are organised regularly by the SGPC from time to time to provide medical facilities to the needy, are evidence of the important role that SGPC plays in the local community.
The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak is an organization in India responsible for the management of gurdwaras, Sikh places of worship in three states of Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh and union territory of Chandigarh.
The SGPC manages the security, financial, facility maintenance and religious aspects of Gurdwaras as well as keeping archaeologically rare and sacred artifacts, including weapons, clothes, books and writings of the Sikh Gurus.
