3 MBBS students amond 5 arrested in RPSC dummy candidate case

Jaipur: 3 MBBS students among a total of five people were arrested on Tuesday for allegedly appearing as dummy candidates in the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) Senior Teacher Recruitment Exam 2022.
As per TOI, the Rajasthan Police's Special Operations Group (SOG) arrested three MBBS students and two government teachers in connection with the case. Meanwhile, another suspected MBBS student has been detained and is being brought to Jaipur for questioning.
The accused arrested have been identified as 3 fourth-year MBBS students, 2 in Kota and 1 from Port Blair and 2 goverment teachers. The suspected dummy candidate, an MBBS student from Kolkata, has been apprehended and is being brought to Jaipur.
Additional Director General (SOG) Vishal Bansal, “Each of them carried a reward of Rs 10,000”.
RPSC conducted the Senior Teacher exam in December 2022 for General Knowledge, Educational Psychology, and Science subjects. However, after the GK and Educational Psychology papers were leaked, the exam was cancelled and rescheduled for January 2023. On this, DIG (SOG) Paris Deshmukh said complaints later surfaced that some candidates secured selection by using dummies.
According to a TOI media report, an FIR was filed against 14 candidates and others in 2023. During the investigation, special software was developed to match the candidates' photographs with the state's one-time registration database. Through digital matching and technical analysis, six dummy candidates were identified.
Following this, SOG teams conducted simultaneous raids at six locations in Andaman, Kolkata, Jalore, Kota, and Jaipur around 10 a.m. on Monday. Officials said the accused allegedly took between ₹3 lakh and ₹5 lakh to appear in the exam in place of genuine candidates.
