Jaipur: 3rd year MBBS student found dead in hostel room
Jaipur: A third-year MBBS student of Sawai Man Singh Medical College has been found dead inside his hostel room.
The deceased identified as Aman Baragta (22), a third-year MBBS student at Sawai Man Singh Medical College, was found hanging from the ceiling fan in his room in the college hostel on Saturday morning, Assistant Sub-Inspector Vikram Singh of SMS Hospital police station said. He was a native of Himachal Pradesh.
The incident took place in the morning on Saturday. According to Navratan Dholia, an officer at the SMS police station, Aman went inside his room on Friday evening after hanging out with his friends at 11:30 pm and stayed inside on Saturday as well. After Aman did not step outside his room on Saturday morning. Other hostelers called for him but upon not getting any answer, they peeked from the window and saw Aman was hanging from the fan. One of the hostelers broke the gate of his room and brought him down and informed the hostel administration and police.

"We have informed his family about the incident. His family will be able to shed some light once they arrive in the city. They were devastated when they learned about the incident," an Singh told TOI.
No suicide note was recovered from the room. The body has been shifted to the mortuary for post-mortem, Singh said.
A case has been registered at the police station and it was revealed that he had deleted his Instagram account before committing suicide and the investigation is underway to determine the reason behind taking the extreme step.
