QR code-based Cleaning System implemented in Govt hospitals, improving patient services
Jaipur: The hospitals affiliated with medical colleges in the state have introduced QR code scanning facilities, allowing patients and their attendants to register complaints and suggestions aimed at maintaining hospital cleanliness. The system has been effective from 1st April.
This innovative approach, integrating technology into healthcare services, aims to enhance patient facilities and streamline operations. In line with this initiative, SMS Hospital has collaborated with the IT department to develop a project utilizing QR codes for patient registration and electronic token systems for OPDs.
As per this system, the patients and their attendants can scan the QR code using their mobile phones to raise complaints regarding improper cleanliness in the hospital. In this way, the complaints will reach the hospital administration and be resolved within minutes.
The health department has made it mandatory for all hospitals affiliated with medical colleges to implement the QR code system. Previously, Medical Dialogues reported that show-cause notices were issued to principals and controllers of eight medical colleges for failing to implement the AI-based cleanliness system. “The health department had issued show cause notices to principals and controllers of eight medical colleges for not implementing artificial intelligence-based (QR Code) cleanliness system in the hospitals affiliated to medical colleges,” said a health department official.
Dr Achal Sharma, medical superintendent, SMS hospital told The Times of India, "We are using QR code for cleanliness and now we are putting efforts to use it for registration of patients. We are also making efforts to use technology for token systems in OPDs to do away with queues. For the purpose, IT department is helping us."
Earlier, notices were issued to principals and controllers of various institutes. The institutions included JLN Medical College Hospital Ajmer, Sardar Patel Medical College Bikaner, Medical College Hospital Dungarpur, Sampurnanand Medical College Jodhpur, Medical College Hospital and Jaipuria Hospital of Rajasthan University of Health Sciences Jaipur, Dental College Hospital of Rajasthan Health Sciences University Jaipur, Medical College Sikar, and Sawai Man Singh Medical College Jaipur.
