Medical Council Awards 2020: TN Medical Council invites nominations from doctors
Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Medical Council has called for the nominations for the "Medical Council Awards 2020" from eligible doctors coming under various categories who served during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The nominations can be sent by the eligible Doctors or by their proposers for recognition of their service during Covid Pandemic. The nominations are requested to be sent under the categories specified by the medical council. There are a total of 6 categories with 5 awards each.
The meritorious doctors among the nominations will be selected for the "Medical Council Awards - 2020 among, the Registered Medical Practioner's for their exemplary service as Covid warriors" as per the criteria/scoring followed by the Selection Committee of the Tamil Nadu Medical Council. The Awards will be given in an "Awards Function" to be held in Chennai by the Tamil Nadu Medical Council and the date will be announced later.
The last date for the Nomination is 15th February 2021.
All the concerned are hereby requested to view the pertinent details released by the medical council with respect to the awards as mentioned below:

Category IV | Doctors who worked in Intensive Care Units and Wards in Covid Management. | 5 |
Category V | Doctors who worked in Preventive Health Care Activities in Public Health Department/Corporation/Municipalities. | 5 |
Category VI | Special Awards Sponsored by Tamilnadu Medical Council | 5 |
General Instructions
1. The last date for application for the nominations will be 5 PM on 15.02.2021.
2. Applicant shall send a soft copy to the following email contact@tamilnadumedicalcouncil.org. and a hard copy with all supportive documents to, The Chairman, Award Committee, New No. 914, Old No. 569, Poonamalle High Road, Arumbakkam, Chennai – 600 106
3. The applicant should apply only in the prescribed format which can be downloaded from www.tamilnadumedicalcouncil.org . The applicant may list their credentials in the soft copy application and enclose relevant supportive documents while submitting the hard copy.
4. The applicant can submit with supportive documents pertaining to the exemplary services rendered during covid pandemic with Photostat copies of Certificates, Awards, Others etc. Originals should be produced when sought by the council.
5. One Applicant can Apply for One Category Only.
6. Members of Selection Committee of the Tamilnadu Medical Council will evaluate each of the eligible applications individually under various parameters defined.
7. If multiple Applicants get the same score and in the event of Tie, the Selection Committee will decide the Awardee under their discretion.
C. Mandatory eligibility
1. The applicant must be registered in Tamil Nadu Medical Council.
2. The applicant must have unblemished Moral, Ethical and Professional Conducts and no pending criminal cases against them.
3. The applicant must have a served during the covid pandemic in any category mentioned in the announcement.
D. The following criteria may add weightage to the scores of the applicant.
1. National, International, State, District Awards depending on the Institution awarding it will add up to the points:
2. Applicant may specifically state about the nature of work and duration of work rendered during covid pandemic in their institution and in public.
3. Details of Approved Study, Thesis and Publication of Papers will add points.
4. Other credentials, the applicant can specifically present with supportive documents.
