Tamil Nadu medical colleges all set to re-open from 7th December
Tamil Nadu: Tamil Nadu Chief minister k Palaniswami has announced that the medical colleges and universities are going to reopen from December 7th and the physical classes for the final year medical students will commence from the same day.
The hostels will also open from the same day for the final year medicos. However, the classes for first-year college students for the coming academic session will start on February 1st. The freshers will be allowed to enter the campus only after the official commencement of first-year classes.
PTI reports that the hostels for final year UG students are permitted to open from December 7, the Chief Minister said adding that from the same day, classes for UG and postgraduate medical and para-medical courses shall begin. Classes for freshers who enroll during the current 2020-21 academic year would, however, begin from February 1, next year, he said. Also, exhibition centers would be allowed to function for 'business to business' purposes.
He has also added that other than the containment zones, the classes for final year undergraduate students of arts, science, engineering, agriculture, fisheries, and veterinary programs in all the colleges and universities will commence from December 7th as well.
