Police found his body in a bloody state after noticing he had cut his thigh at the joint (between private parts and thigh) with a blade, causing him to die from excessive bleeding, reports TOI .
His family members discovered the shocking incident who left the student home alone after her mother and sister went to the temple in the evening. After they returned home at 6.30 pm, they found the student unconscious and alerted the police.
Upon their arrival, they conducted a preliminary investigation and found no suicide note in his room. They suspect that the student took the extreme step due to depression. However, the cause could be determined based on the post-mortem reports.
It is suspected by the police that the student's depression was triggered by stopping his mental health medication recently.
Meanwhile, it came to light that this is not the first time the student had attempted to end his life. About four years ago, the student attempted to die by suicide but failed following which he was under treatment.
A case has been registered by the police under Section 174 (suspicious death) of the CrPC. An investigation is underway.
