Expedite promotion for doctors and nurses in Teaching hospitals: Telangana Health Minister
Hyderabad: Telangana government has recently taken several steps to strengthen the health sector including placing importance on accelerating the promotion process for 190 assistant professors to associate professor positions in teaching hospitals.
Health Minister Harish Rao has talked about the necessity to expedite the recruitment and promotion process of assistant and associate professors. This came after a review meeting held in July where the minister gave an ultimatum to the authorities to complete the process within a week and start the postings at the earliest.
The Minister emphasized the need to expedite the promotion process for Telangana Vaidya Vidhan Parishad's 112 deputy civil surgeons and civil surgeons. He stated that the orders for promotions should be completed in 15 days. He also demanded that Telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad should swiftly complete the promotion process for 371 nurses. He highlighted that the localization process needed to be finished in the next 10 days and that the promotions needed to be finished in a month, reports The Hindu.
Mr Rao gave the Director of Medical Education Ramesh Reddy instructions to quickly submit recommendations to the government in order to allow the necessary transfers of professors. The meeting also voted to enhance the age requirement for promotions from Professor to Additional DME. Additionally, he oversaw the prompt start and completion of the Additional DME promotion process.
The Minister issued a directive to purchase 32 single-donor platelet machines for dengue test diagnostics after realising the need for prompt diagnosis and treatment. The purchase of these machines, for which a budget of Rs. 10 crores had been set aside, would result in their installation in each district hospital. The effectiveness of diagnosing and treating dengue cases would be considerably improved by this.
Medical professionals were instructed to be on the lookout for seasonal infections as the rainy season began. Making plans for prompt testing and treatment was crucial, Mr Rao stated.
