Telangana expands Arogya Sri Scheme with addition of 65 New Medical Procedures
Hyderabad: The state government has decided to add 65 more new medical treatments under the Rajiv Arogya Sri scheme besides increasing the package cost of the existing 1,375 medical treatments.
The decision was made by Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka during a meeting held at the secretariat on Saturday.
The minister issued orders on Saturday releasing Rs 497.29 crore towards the enhanced cost of treatment packages.

According to a UNI report, a decision on bringing 65 more new medical treatments for Angiogram, Parkinson’s disease, spinal cord-related diseases under the Rajiv Arogya Sri scheme, he informed.
The Arogya Sri scheme was introduced in 2007 by the then Congress government to provide quality medical treatment to poor.
There are 2.84 crore beneficiaries and financial assistance of up to Rs 10 lakh was being extended for each beneficiary.
This scheme is implemented through 1,402 hospitals in the state and presently 1, 672 medical treatments for various diseases and health problems were included under the Arogya Sri scheme.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported that in a bid to provide required treatment in emergencies, the state government plans to prepare digital health profile cards for everyone in Telangana. The health profile card will also be linked with the Arogyasri card. Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has directed the officials to prepare digital health profile cards for everyone in the state.
He suggested linking the digital health profile card with a unique number which will enable it to provide required treatment in emergency situations. The health profile card will also be linked with the Arogyasri card. The Chief Minister discussed the issue of removing the mandated requirement of a white ration card to avail of the Arogyasri benefit.
